A Life of Quiet Strength (Tony Dungy)

How can we live a life of quiet strength in a world of constant change? Many people around us are basing important decisions on the latest fads and marketing slogans, but these shift and change as quickly as the clock ticks. Where do we find the solid foundation that we need to stand strong as the earth rocks and trembles beneath our feet?

An ancient Hebrew songwriter wrote these words: "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!" (Psalm 46:1-3). This writer knew a truth about God that we need to take to heart. No matter what is happening around us, no matter how tough things get, God doesn't change and the principles and truths he has defined for life don't change either. If we can get in line with God's principles, practices, and priorities, staying in sync with his plan for us, we will stand strong no matter what life throws at us.
