SMILE FOR YOU

Smiling is infectious; you catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick, and get the world infected!

Keep the smile going by sending this on to a friend.
Everyone needs a smile!!!

~yesterday, a patient gave this note (with a photo of two monkeys with BIG smiles) to my boss and another staff in our unit at the hospital. We had a kicked out of it that our staff talked about it the whole day. It just now reminded me that there was another note posted on a door at my other job a long time ago and it said... "A smile only takes a few seconds but it's the memory of it that lasts for a long time!". I find this to be very true because you begin to appreciate little things like this in times of "crises". For instance, I approached a physician yesterday and I shared with him that we really appreciate him a lot because of his efficiency in helping us (in our unit) expedite the process in the care of our patients. We all know that it is exremely hectic (sometimes it makes me want to cry but i just don't have the time to do it!;) in our unit and to get even a crack of smile is a "luxury". His initial response was a "big" smile from ear to ear. And he uttered,
"I try my best". :) I smiled back at him after he said that... I get so encouraged about things like this and I can not let it pass so I decided to journal this as part of my journey with GOD!

I keep reminding myself to take the time to appreciate people when you are given the opportunity to do it. I just now remembered the mission lesson (acronym LOBBS) given by Elder Voltaire at the church. I'll elaborate on this on another journal (blog) entry.
