Growing up in a big family of 9 children is such a blessing. Especially when you are the youngest!!!(he-he-he :) My fondest memories were during my very early years in life when I was in pre-k until the 2nd grade. I had a blast!....'was one of the singing angels in our school presentations and 'luv eating snacks and taking naps on a "banig" (straw floor mat) in pre-k and kindergarten.... 'recited some poems outdoor in my angel costumes in our local catholic church when I was on 1st grade ....' collected donation money for the church in church gatherings after the Easter Sunday mass . I praised God my mom trained me to be a church little helper at that very early age. I had no idea seeds were already planted in my little heart back then.
One day....there was this rich and handsome little boy that was picking on me at my school (owned by an evangelical church) in pre-k/kinder. His family was well known- they owned the entire sugar cane plantations in our town. I could still remember that my cousin named Samuel (yeah....a name just like in the biblical time in the O.T.! ) came to my rescue. You see my cousin and I were tight! We're like brother and sister- he's just one year older than me. I played with him and his male friends when we were little. Yep! I did what the boys did! (FUN!). I thought of my cousin because I just saw and talked to him yesterday, through this state of the art "logitech" that my family has on-line in their computer at home. My cousin reminds me of the "PORRAS" (my mom's maiden name) in me that wants to come out like a warrior that is charging towards the enemy line . My mom's clan are in the what I call "living your life on the edge" type family, they're brave and courageous - so willing to take risks, not scared of anybody or anything type people, etc., etc. Sometimes, I am scared to be a part of this clan because my emotions can get out of control when I think about the traits that I inherited from my ancestors on my mom's side (this reminds me of the disney movie "Mulan"). But WAIT!!! ...I already know that I am truly blessed because of the greatest revolutionary leader that I want to follow for the rest of my life . The hope that I needed the most is...JESUS CHRIST! (Whew! 'Just in the nick of time. GOD'S TIMING IS SO PERFECT!). I could not imagine what I would be doing right now if I weren't a christian. It is indeed "PURE JOY" to be a child of God. I am a christian and Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and also the "PURE JOY" of my life. I can experience "PURE JOY" because of the Holy Spirit that guides and directs me to live a life that is holy and pleasing to GOD.
Lord, the worship we bring is more than songs that we sing; it's a reflection of our ever changing lives, the best we have to offer. (taken from Father, Spirit, Jesus- SO AMAZING SONGBOOK)
